The District of Oak Bay aims to buy goods and services that provide the best value for public funds.

This includes, but is not limited to: availability, suitability, serviceability, transportation, warranty, design, and life cycle costs. We must maintain the highest ethical standards in our dealings with suppliers.

The procurement function is accomplished by competitive bidding based on pre-determined specifications. Please refer to our Sustainable Procurement Policy and the Terms and Conditions for Vendors.

Bid Opportunities

Bid documents may be accessed on BC Bid. It is the sole responsibility of the bidder to monitor the site and check for updates. Please ensure you are checking the “addenda” tab in the left side of the opportunity details page as these differ from amendments.

The District of Oak Bay seeks to provide fair, equal bidding opportunities to businesses. This is for acquiring supplies, services, assets, and infrastructure that offer the best value. The District of Oak Bay provides grants each year in support of community-provided services.

A completed application form and budget form, along with any additional information as needed, must be received by the Director of Financial Services by January 31 of each year in order to be considered during the annual budget deliberations.

Looking to fund an arts organization or project?

You may be eligible for funding through the CRD Arts Development Service, which provides funding to arts organizations on behalf of eight municipalities in the capital region.
