Friends of Uplands Park is seeking volunteers for Sundays from April 7 to 27, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., to assist in removing invasive plants at Uplands Park. Volunteers are to meet at 1 p.m. at the Dorset entrance near Beach Drive. Volunteers and Friends of Uplands Park will walk in via the new boardwalk; however, the trail remains muddy beyond that point, so rubber boots are recommended.
In recent years, Friends of Uplands Park and Oak Bay Parks have successfully removed hundreds of invasive trees. Students from Willows School contributed by clearing ivy and planting a Camas Meadow.
