There are a number of whale-watching organizations that tour the waters off of Oak Bay, including the Oak Bay Islands and Trial Islands ecological reserves. Resident and Transient Orca pods are common sights, with Grey and Humpback whales less commonly spotted.  Seals, Sea Lions, Otters, Mink, seabirds, and other sealife is visible in abundance.
