District of Oak Bay seeks input on potential approaches for regulating secondary suites
Based on direction contained in the Official Community Plan, and within the context of the larger Housing Framework being developed, the District of Oak Bay continues to seek public input on potential approaches for regulating new and existing secondary suites.
Residents are invited to provide input on the potential approaches by taking the online Secondary Suites Survey available at connect.oakbay.ca/secondary-suites-study.
Paper copies of the Survey are also available by emailing planning@oakbay.ca, calling 250-598-2042, or picking up copies at the Oak Bay Recreation Centre, 1975 Bee Street. Paper copies can be returned to the mail slot located by the front door of Municipal Hall, 2167 Oak Bay Avenue.
The Survey is open until June 3, 2021.
“We know our residents have a good sense of both the opportunities and potential challenges that different approaches to regulating suites can bring. We encourage residents to provide their valuable feedback by completing the Survey questions and open-ended input sections. The thoughtful insights we receive from the public will help Council assess potential approaches,” stated Mayor Kevin Murdoch.
The general results of the Survey will then be incorporated into the Draft Secondary Suites Report, to be presented to Council for consideration.
