The Sports View Lounge, located within the Oak Bay Recreation Centre, serves a diverse range of meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and baked goods. You’re invited to enjoy your meal while taking in views of the pool, the indoor sports field, and the arena. In favorable weather conditions, you have the option to dine outdoors on our patio. Conveniently located on the second floor of the Oak Bay Recreation Centre, just opposite the Weightroom, the Sports View Lounge is ready to enhance your recreational experience with our delicious offerings.

Special events occur occasionally on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday nights. On a special event evening, the Sports View Lounge will close at 3:00 pm for set-up. These events require tickets. For more information, see our Event Calendar.
Note: There may be some closures due to private functions. Notices will be put up in the Centre.

The Sports View Lounge offers a variety of delicious sandwiches, soups, salads, veggie plates, fruit, fresh-baked muffins and treats all day.
Events & Catering
The Sports View Lounge offers event and catering booking. Our lounges can host a variety of events such as business meetings, birthday parties, luncheons, banquets, musical events, and celebrations. Our professional staff are dedicated to ensuring the success and ease of your event.
Event Spaces:
- Small Lounge: 546 sq ft, accommodates 25-30 people.
- Main Lounge: 2600 sq ft, accommodates 100-200 people.
- Patio: 960 sq ft, accommodates up to 52 people.
The Sports View Lounge and small lounge at the Oak Bay Recreation Centre are the primary spaces for licensed catered events. The small lounge offers views of the arena, while the Sports View Lounge overlooks the Indoor Sports Field and the pool. The patio, overlooking Goldsmith Street, is also available for use. These spaces are suitable for social and business events, accommodating 25-200 people at square tables in various configurations.
All spaces are fully licensed and catering is available.
A variety of services are available to customize your event. Both lounges offer a large-screen TV, a big screen and projector, and other audio-visual equipment for presentations. Full catering ranges from appetizers to buffet or full, plated meals and a full bar. Table linens and napkins are provided. Parking is free, and is available at the end of Goldsmith Street or in the parking lot beside the main doors of the recreation centre.
