Henderson Park

A developed park (8.28 hectares) containing a wooded Par 3 golf course, tennis courts, playing fields for soccer and baseball, and a jogging trail with an outdoor fitness circuit and playground, and a recreation centre (Henderson Recreation Centre).

This multi-faceted park is enjoyed by all ages for a wide range of sports and leisure opportunities. The well-maintained playing fields and tennis courts provide a sports focus for soccer, baseball, and tennis. The beautiful Par 3 golf course provides play in a wooded, secluded setting surrounded by floral displays and a jogging trail with an outdoor fitness circuit.

Henderson Recreation Centre provides administrative services and washrooms as well as a variety of recreational opportunities for adults and children with its spacious gymnasium, a weightroom and a children’s activity room.

Both inside and outside facilities are well maintained to provide a safe, welcoming environment for visitors.

Organized field use is by permit system. Casual, non-organized use is allowed during times that the fields are not used by permit holders or closed for maintenance. The sand-based grass field is closed to use from mid-March to end of August to allow the turf to regenerate.

The golf course is open seasonally (March through late November) and green fees are charged. Players are expected to adhere to posted rules of play and golf etiquette.

Tennis courts are on a paid reservation system from April through September. Free walk-on use is permitted if the courts are not otherwise booked. (Refer to the current recreation programs brochure for court reservation information.)

The parking lot at Henderson Park is for park and recreation facility users only and there is a three-hour limit.
