Oak Bay Parks, Recreation & Culture offers a wide range of Oak Bay camps for children during Pro D Days, Winter Break, Spring Break, and Summer Break.

Leadership:

Camp leaders fully supervise Oak Bay Campers throughout the day. Additionally, they are trained in First Aid and CPR, have completed a criminal record check, and have received specific training for the camp. Parents and guardians must sign campers in and out each day and provide current medical and emergency information for their child.

Camp Schedules:

For most Oak Bay camps, you will be emailed a schedule including parent information the Wednesday before camp begins. Schedules will list items your camper should bring each day. Please note: schedules are subject to change.

The First Day of Camp:

Please be prepared to stay a few minutes on the first day of camp to complete sign-in, meet your camper’s leaders and complete any outstanding paperwork.

Poor Weather:

Camps run rain or shine unless you are notified otherwise. Except for outdoor tennis camps where families will be notified.

Epi-pens & Severe Allergies:

If your child carries an Epi-pen, an Emergency Medical Information Form must be completed before the first day of camp. Forms are available at reception and the website. Please refrain from sending any products with nuts to camp.

Extra Support Needs:

If your child requires additional support, please contact the Inclusion Programmer at 250-370-7909 or inclusion@oakbay.ca to arrange for support staff prior to registering for a camp.

Supported spots are limited and based on staff availability.

Age Requirements:

Preschool Camps (3-5 Years Old): All preschool camps require campers to be able to use the toilet independently and meet the minimum age requirement by the end of the camp week.

School Age Camps (Ages 5 and up): All school age camps require campers to be currently in Kindergarten or higher and meet the minimum age requirement by December 31. Some camps may have more specific are requirements detailed in their descriptions.

Contact Reception at Oak Bay 250-595-7946 or Henderson 250-370-7200 for assistance and a receptionist will answer your questions or have a camp supervisor contact you.

Weekly Camps:

All weekly camp credits/refunds/changes must be requested by 8:00 p.m. the Monday one week prior to the start of camp

Daily Camps:

Requests for all daily camp credits, refunds, or changes must be made at least 72 hours before camp starts. For example, for a Pro-D Day camp starting on Monday at 9:00 a.m., requests must be made by Friday at 9:00 a.m.
