The Oak Bay Emergency Program (OBEP) is responsible for municipal emergency management.

OBEP prepares and updates emergency plans, conducts training and exercises with staff, supports emergency response and supports a resilient community through volunteer-based programs.

The emergency program is managed through the Oak Bay Fire Department (1703 Monterey Avenue). The program has one staff position and the Fire Chief is the designated Emergency Coordinator for the District.
