The June 2024 Friends of Uplands Park bird walk is coming up on Saturday, June 29th. Friends of Uplands Park meets in the main parking lot at Cattle Point at 9:00am. All are welcome! 

Many species nest in Uplands Park, and at this time of year, it can be quite entertaining to watch the fledglings following their parents and begging for food.

Back on June 13th, Geoffrey found an Ovenbird in the park, which is a very rare visitor from east of the Rocky Mountains. The record marks the third consecutive year that he has found an Ovenbird in Uplands (June 10, 2022 & June 11, 2023) raising the question as to whether it’s the same bird adopting Uplands Park as a stopover during spring migration.
