Carnarvon Park Master Plan

A pillar of our community, Carnarvon Park has been enjoyed by countless individuals. The District of Oak Bay is looking towards the long-range vision of the park.

Where we are today

On Monday, January 22nd, 2024, Oak Bay Council awarded the contract to refresh the Carnarvon Park Master Plan and prepare an Option Analysis for the Main Building to Carscadden Stokes McDonnald Architects Inc.

Next steps of this project include staff working with Carscadden Stokes McDonnald, and opportunities for residents and the public to share their input regarding programs, service levels and designs.

The focus is the northwest section of the park, which includes the main building, water park, tennis courts and lacrosse box. The existing sports fields and lawn bowling clubhouse and greens are not a major focus of redevelopment planning currently.

Staff are preparing a grant application that is due on Oct 15, as well as working on the next phase of the technical report for Council. This follow-up report is expected to be presented at a public meeting in November.
