Enjoy an evening of all things Irish as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! Featuring The Slieves along with multi-award winning artist Q.Brooke Bachand it will be an evening of high energy foot stomping music you won’t want to miss!

The Slieves are a West Coast Celtic band hailing from Victoria and Duncan B.C., the traditional territories of the Lekwungen, WSÁNEĆ and Quw’utsun peoples. Brought together by their love of traditional Irish Music, this group has brought Celtic folk and Celtic-inspired original music to the coast of B.C. for well over a decade. The trio draws inspiration from such groups as Dervish, The Bothy Band, The Pogues, The Chieftains, Great Big Sea, The Irish Rovers, and others. The talented members include the magical Tasia MacKay (Irish flute and whistles, 5 string banjo, vocals), the accomplished Jeremy Walsh (guitar, vocals) and the foot-stomping Andrew Morris MacKay (bodhran, spoons, vocals).

Q. Brooke Bachand (they/them), winner of two Irish Music Awards, is a consummate performer who is clearly at ease on stage. Known for their powerful fiddle, captivating vocals and their contagious energy, their love of Folk and Celtic music is always at the forefront as they thrill audiences with energetic and spirited performances that showcase their fiddle & vocal talents as well as their love of story-sharing.

Once a teen fiddle star , Q has blossomed & grown into their (non-binary) gender identity and life’s purpose & are singing rebel ballads and folk songs (a capella & self-accompanied), interspersed with rip-roaring fiddle tunes to help heal the soul. Their sets will equally inspire as they will bring you to tears or have you clapping along (& stomping your feet) !

The Upstairs Lounge is a licensed all ages restaurant and bar, doors open at 6 pm for dinner service, the concert starts at 7:30 pm.

Tickets are also available at the Oak Bay Recreation Centre, in person or by phone (250) 595-7946, as well as through or Beacon Ridge Productions.
