Community provides feedback on services and priorities in 2024 Annual Questionnaire
Oak Bay, B.C. – The District of Oak Bay is pleased to release results from its 2024 Annual Community Feedback Questionnaire.
This annual questionnaire sought feedback from residents and business owners on a broad range of municipal services, initiatives, facilities, service experience and satisfaction. It also asked for public input on community well-being and priorities for the future. The 2024 questionnaire ran from late May to early July 2024, receiving an impressive 1,268 responses. The results are intended to help Council and staff understand and respond to ever-evolving community needs and expectations.
“The annual questionnaire provides the opportunity for staff and Council to hear directly from our residents and taxpayers, taking the pulse our community” said Oak Bay Mayor Kevin Murdoch. “This is an important tool, along with public input related to specific issues before Council, that helps guide our decision making and priorities setting; I appreciate the time so many residents took to provide their thoughtful feedback.”
When asked about the quality of life, 95 per cent of respondents rated it “good” in Oak Bay, with 77 per cent agreeing they feel a sense of belonging. Municipal services that received the highest satisfaction were parks, garbage pickup, fire protection and policing. Those needing attention, according to respondents, included road pavement maintenance, sidewalk maintenance and road lines and markings.
Oak Bay Council will formally receive the results on December 2, 2024, during their annual Council Priorities Plan session. Members of the public are welcome to attend or tune in online through oakbay.civicweb.net
