Regional Deer Management Strategy Update
The Regional Deer Management Strategy Oak Bay pilot project has applied to the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations (FLNRO) for a permit to proceed with capture and euthanize activities in Oak Bay in 2015. Should a permit be granted, FLNRO has agreed to provide logistical support for these activities. A number of potential contactors were invited to bid on the contract. In accordance with provincial regulations and guidelines provided by the BC wildlife veterinarian, animals will be treated ethically and humanely. Questions concerning the Regional Deer Management Strategy should be directed to deermanagement@crd.bc.ca.
