Island Asphalt is scheduled to begin paving Monterey Avenue and St. Ann Street starting Wednesday, February 26th, 2025. The work is expected to be completed by Wednesday, March 5, 2025, weather permitting.

Expected Work

The paving work will involve several stages to ensure a durable and properly rehabilitated road surface, including:

• Placement of a level course of asphalt
• Overlay of new asphalt over the entire road surface

Work Hours and Location

Work will take place between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM each day. Residents should anticipate increased traffic and noise during this time.

The paving will take place along Monterey Ave. and St. Ann St. from Oak Bay Ave. to Bowker Ave. 

Traffic/Parking Impacts

Residents should be aware of the following impacts to traffic and parking during the paving work:

• Please have your vehicles off the street from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM daily.
• When you see no parking signs go out, please move your vehicle off the street.
• The existing bus route through this area will not be affected by this construction. 
• Island Asphalt will attempt to maintain limited access in and out of driveways. However, there may be temporary delays during certain phases of the construction. You may be asked to park on adjacent streets during these times.
• Exercise caution when driving on oiled areas to avoid tracking oil onto your driveway.
