Announcement: Director of Corporate Services

The District of Oak Bay is pleased to announce  that Mr. Warren Jones will assume the role of Director of Corporate Services for the District of Oak Bay effective May 24, 2016.

Mr. Jones started his career in Recreation with the City of Port Alberni, and then moved to the City of Coquitlam where he spent 15 years in a variety of positions, starting as their Deputy City Clerk.  He was promoted to the City Clerk and spent four years in that position before he became the Deputy City Manager.  He was then promoted to City Manager, and he was in that position for five years.  His most recent role was Chief Administrative Officer for the Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) for seven years.

Mr. Jones educational accomplishments include a Masters of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Leisure Studies from the University of Victoria.

The position became vacant in February, 2016 when Ms. Loranne Hilton accepted the position of Chief Administrative Officer for the District of Highlands.

Mayor, Council and staff would also like to take this opportunity to thank Maura Jones who acted in the position during the recruitment process.
