Geotechnical work to commence in the Uplands Neighbourhood
Uplands Combined Sewer Separation Project Update
Council approved the award of a $36,351 contract on May 24, 2016 to WSP Canada Inc. for geotechnical work as part of the ongoing Combined Sewer Separation Project in the Uplands neighbourhood. Data will be collected over several days in June on municipal property and will be used to help inform Council’s decision on the appropriate option for introducing either a new sanitary sewer pipe or a new stormwater pipe in the Uplands neighbourhood as mandated by the provincial government.
WSP Canada’s work schedule:
- June 7, Tuesday, 8 am – 5:00 pm: Activity - locating utilities in preparation for soil drilling and rock probing
- June 20, Monday, 8 am – 5:00 pm: Activity - soil drilling
- June 22, Wednesday, 8 am – 5:00pm: Activity - rock probing
As part of the WSP Contract, Island Traffic Services will be onsite to provide traffic control. Residents may experience temporary traffic disruptions on these dates noted above.
