Oak Bay Police attended to 101 calls for service this week.
Thursday August 31st, A vehicle was stopped for not having their head lights illuminated. An odour of liquor was detected and the driver was subsequently issued a 24-hour suspension.
Saturday September 2nd, in the morning a vehicle was stopped for a speeding violation. An odour of stale liquor was detected. The female driver was subsequently issued a 3-Day IRP and her vehicle was impounded.
Sunday September 3rd, Police responded to the report of a suspicious male following a vehicle to their residence. It was not located. Later in the evening it was involved in a minor accident at a different location. The driver was subsequently located and determined to be suffering from Alzheimer’s and was severely confused. The driver had been reported missing person from Nanaimo. The driver was reunited with family. No charges will be pursued.
