Director of Building and Planning
The District of Oak Bay is pleased to announce that Mr. Bruce Anderson will assume the role of Director of Building and Planning for the District of Oak Bay effective June 11, 2018.
Mr. Anderson is a Registered Professional Planner (RPP), a Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP) and holds a Masters’ Degree in Regional Planning and Resource Development. Mr. Anderson has extensive experience in the planning and development field in both the public and private sector. Over the last ten years he has worked with the City of Nanaimo in various leadership roles, most recently as the Manager of Community and Cultural Planning.
Mr. Anderson has extensive experience managing a range of projects and multi-disciplinary teams and has provided advisory services internationally through the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. Mr. Anderson stated, “I am going to miss my colleagues in Nanaimo, however, I am very much looking forward to working with the team in Oak Bay. I know Oak Bay has been rated as one of the most desirable places to live in Canada and I look forward to working with Council and the community to ensure that we continue to make Oak Bay the best place to live in Canada.”
