The retirement home of the Honourable Thomas Paterson, Lieutenant Governor of BC from 1909 to 1914.  This early Uplands house cost $25,000 to build in 1914.  Designed by H.S. Griffith in an adapted Mission Revival style.  Spectacular views of the waterfront and Mt Baker from the house formed the cover of the Uplands promotional booklet.
