2013 Property Tax Notices Have Been Mailed
The property tax notices for 2013 have been mailed - if you have not received your tax notice, please contact the Municipal Hall at 250-598-3311.
Payment Options and Due Dates
Payments must be received at the Hall by midnight July 2, 2013 or mailed within Canada with a legible postmark dated June 21, 2013 or earlier to avoid penalty. All unpaid 2013 taxes (including unclaimed home owner grants) are subject to a 10% penalty after July 2, 2013.
Cheques that are post-dated to July 2, 2013 will be accepted in advance. Taxes may also be paid in person. For online banking payment options, check with your financial institution. Bank payments must be stamped or deposited by July 2, 2013 or earlier.
Home Owner Grants and Deferment Programs
Eligible taxpayers are urged to apply for their home owner grants as soon as they receive their tax notice. It is not necessary to make a payment in order to claim the grant. You can claim your home owner grant online by clicking here and then following the instructions.
Your completed home owner grant application must be received at the Municipal Hall by July 2, 2013 in order to avoid a penalty on the home owner grant amount. Outside of regular business hours, completed home owner grant applications and payments by cheque or money order may also be delivered by way of the mail slot beside the front doors of the Hall.
Property Tax Deferment Programs are available to home owners who are:
(1) 55 years or older, a surviving spouse or a person with disabilities, or
(2) financially supporting a child under the age of 18 years at any time during the calendar year.
Further information and application forms are available at the Municipal Hall.
