Applications Now Accepted for the Advisory Planning Commission
UPDATE SEPTEMBER 28, 2015 - The application submission period has now closed.
The District of Oak Bay is now accepting applications for the Oak Bay Advisory Planning Commission (APC) to fill one or two year term vacancies, expiring December 2016 and December 2017. In addition to general membership (including representation under 35 years of age) representing the community, the District is seeking representatives with a background in environmental, active transportation, heritage, business and land use activities.
The Oak Bay Advisory Planning Commission makes recommendations to Council on matters respecting land use, community planning, and proposed amendments and initiatives related to the Official Community Plan (OCP) and Zoning Bylaw. The Commission brings a broad community perspective to initiatives that promote a sustainable community by linking land use, transportation, environment, climate change, economy, heritage, and social and cultural considerations, all of which represent the community vision.
Citizens who are interested in volunteering their time to serve on the Oak Bay Advisory Planning Commission are invited to provide a letter of interest, a resume and complete an application form for Council's consideration. Hard copies of the application form are also available at the Administration Department (Municipal Hall, 2167 Oak Bay Avenue).
