Over the past week, Oak Bay Fire Department responded to 24 calls for assistance;
14 – Medical First Responder Requests
3 – Public Assistance Requests
6 – Commercial / Residential Alarm Activations
1 – Structure Fire (Apartment)
- On Sunday, December 21 the Oak Bay Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 2300 block of Beach Drive. Despite the occupants not promptly evacuating after discovering the fire there were no injuries in this fire, they were assessed for injuries and released by BCAS. Oak Bay Fire Department would like to remind you that when a fire is discovered, or alarms are heard in your building that you should evacuate to a safe area and wait for the Fire Department to arrive.
- On Friday December 19, 2014 the Oak Bay Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation presented a $1500 cheque to Monterey Middle School.
- Oak Bay Firefighters Charity Foundation will be holding our annual tree recycle at the Fire Station, by donation on January 3rd and 4th. Proceeds collected are donated to various organizations and schools in Oak Bay.
- Oak Bay Fire Department members (retired and active) participated in food and gift deliveries to Santa’s Anonymous recipients.
